Vanessa's songwriting has evolved impressively over the years, drawing inspiration from the expertly crafted lyrics and memorable melodies of renowned songwriters across genres like jazz and musical theatre. She has successfully written for small vocal groups, church choirs, individual performers, as well as for musical theatre and film. As a skilled singer, Vanessa has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Shirley Jones, Randy Sparks and the Backporch Majority alongside jazz arranger Jack Quigley and others. Her performances have captivated audiences in major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, and even Trevi, Italy. Recently, Vanessa partnered with the legendary Sally Stevens to compose a compelling song inspired by the narrative of "Queen's Gambit," titled "Find Me," and collaborated with the talented composer and trumpeter Daniel Nissenbaum on the jaunty "Cup of Life." She is an active member of Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), the Society for Composers and Lyricists (SCL), and the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers (ASMAC).
